Meetup #78 – Industrial Software Development – CTRL+ALT+DEL is Not an Option

April 12, 2016 @ 12:00 am

April2016-IndustrialAutomation-E

April 12, 2016  |  7:00 pm – 9:30 pm | Halton Hive, Burlington

Building and Managing software in industrial environments is different than web pages and iPhone Apps. You are dealing with real machines and physical risk – the word ‘connected’ doesn’t just refer to your Bluetooth headset. Andrew Barker will share a host of senarios from his years as an Industrial software developer, project manager, and customer and division manager.

Keynote Presenter

andrewb“The boss of a sometimes broken robot’” (his daughter’s title), Andrew Barker, from Oakville’s Callisto, has circa 14 years of experience in the development, management, sales and overall life cycle management of industrial software. If you have eaten it, showered with it, or picked it off the store shelf there is a reasonable chance it came from a factory that Andrew (or his team) worked in. Currently calling Oakville home, Andrew has 4 kids, an amazing wife and likes to run long distances when he’s not on the injured list. [LinkedIn]
