April 8, 2014 | QE Park, Oakville | Meetup 54: New Tech Meetup
Introducing our first New Tech meetup! The New Tech meetup is an opportunity for local technology companies to wowcase the community by showing off their locally created technology software and/or hardware products/projects. The community will have the opportunity to meet some of the local leaders and talent that are creating innovative solutions and companies in Halton Region. We are not solely focused on startups, as established technology firms are also introducing great new technology.

We got the idea for a New Tech meetup from the Denver Tech Community and sudcess their New Tech meetups have had since 2006. Not solely the sudcess of the meetup itself, but the success of instilling a sense of belonging and connectedness in the Denver area, the same as Silicon Halton has inspired to do since we launched in 2009.
We are excited to be providing an opportunity to generate additional buzz about each local tech company and their products. Each company can expect up to 1,500 people will learn about them and their product by the end of the New Tech meetup.
We hope everyone leaves the New Tech meetup inspired and with an even greater appreciation for the cool technology that is being created locally and the numerous tech jobs created.
Thanks to Oakville's Economic Development Group. They made the Black Box room at the Queen Ellizabeth Park Community & Cultural Centre (QEP) available to us again. This is an example of how Oakville’s EcDev supports the local tech community.
QEP is a fabulous 1-year old facility in Oakville, a unique multi-purpose recreation, arts and culture facility.
