Diverse IT Peer2Peer – March 2019
March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Diverse IT is an inclusive, informative and supportive program within the Silicon Halton community here for the purpose of empowering, encouraging and welcoming people from distinct backgrounds, cultures and experiences to participate, integrate and thrive professionally in Halton and beyond. We are here to engage, inform, enhance & connect people with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
This month’s topic – Building an Ability Bank: Using Technology to Showcase Skills & Find Talent
We will showcase tools, resources and programs for people who have diverse IT skills and abilities to offer, and share how to use these to increase professional development opportunities within the technology sector and beyond. We will continue to expand upon the conversation, and plan, to create an Ability Bank database; providing businesses with a chance to see people with exceptionalities performing diverse roles, while demonstrating assistive tech and tools used to achieve success.
