FRIDAY March 24, 2017 | 9am - 10:30am (Date moved due to March Break)

Last Month Chris Herbert of MI6 Agency led us through Traction Marketing goal setting, and as a group we developed 2 goals to focus on:

For the Solopreneur P2P: Consistenly have 10 people at each Solopreneur Meetup over the next 12 months

For each person in attendance: Achieve 1 expression of interest over the next 30 days by promoting both SoloP2P and our companies

We then ran through the 19 Traction Channels, and in the next couple days will focus on 1 or 2 to trial over the next month.  On March 24, we're going to evalutate the results and choose another 1 or 2 channels to trial.

At our April Meetup, we'll evaluate again, and run through the process for one Solopreneur in attendance.

The Milton Education Village Innovation Center presents a half day workshop on robotics and automation in the supply chain for distribution and manufacturing companies.

Robotics & Automation in Logistics: An Emerging Technology Trend

One of the biggest challenges facing the logistics industry today is labor availability. It’s not easy for companies around the world to find enough high-quality employees to move goods from suppliers to customers.

Two competing factors are making this especially difficult: The first is an increasing need for more logistics workers and this is being driven by the e-commerce revolution and its need for more parcel shipments; the second is a decline in the size of the available workforce. Up until now, robotics technology has not made a large impact in the world of logistics.

Learn about how this is changing as advanced robots enter our warehouses, sorting centers, and even help with final-mile delivery. Logistics workers will benefit from collaborating with robots, while customers will see faster service and higher quality.

Eventbrite - Silicon Halton Meetup #85: Business Models and Business Model Design

In this meetup presented by SB Partners, we’ll discuss Business Models and Business Model Design

Your Business Model's Impact

Mustafa Dossajee, Partner at SB Partners will discuss why developing and communicating your business model is important to the growth of your tech business. The ability to communicate your business model to venture capitalists, accountants, and other financial institutions facilitates their understanding and improves their ability to support your success in early stages and when you are scaling up your business.

Business Models / Design

Chris Herbert, co-founder of Silicon Halton and Founder of Mi6 Agency will provide you with an overview of key business model types and business model design. The goal of this meetup is for you to get a better understanding about:

  • business model design vs. product design. What's the difference?
  • business model types
  • the 9 building blocks of a business model
  • the importance of value proposition design and role it has in product, market fit and customer validation

During this talk Chris will draw from his professional experience and apply business model design thinking to some real world scenarios. He'll also do a fast business model design session with members of the audience.

This is the second in a series of talks dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, and those that work for them, improve their chances of being successful. The first, "Financing and Funding - What are Your Options? Ask the Experts , presented by BDC, took place earlier this year.
